Jo Pratt, Station Manager, has Radio 4EB news to share, celebrate, and look forward to. And we want you all involved!
A huge welcome to the inaugural issue of Radio 4EB’s new monthly E-Newsletter ‘Sharing The World With You’.
Can I start by offering thoughts and prayers to everyone, including those in our own Radio 4EB community, affected by the recent weather events? While our station premises themselves escaped damage some of our neighbours were not so lucky. The Brisbane Jazz Club in particular was hard hit and we are currently assisting by storing some of their equipment.
For all members of our Radio 4EB family adversely affected by the recent events please be sure to reach out to the station if there is any way in which we can assist.
As pertains to our new e-News: on top of monthly features like Program of The Month and 5 Minutes With (a quick, light-hearted way to get to know a little more about members of our community), moving forward we will be honing content to ensure that while we cover general station news, wins, upcoming events, and emerging opportunities, we are also able to provide insightful commentary across:
- Key sector news (community radio, arts and multicultural affairs)
- Emerging industry trends
- Guest editorials (Op Ed’s)
- Community news
- Upcoming Radio 4EB projects, plans, and more
Big news this month is that we are exceptionally proud to announce that the station has been successful in our bid for a significant grant from the Walkley Foundation under the Facebook Australian News Fund!
This funding will go such a long way in our plans to open a radio newsroom to train and support community journalists from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, increasing the availability of content relevant to diverse communities right across Australia. We can’t wait to hear local stories from listeners and contributors from all over Australia.

Kindest regards,
Jo Pratt
