The recent visit of the new Dutch ambassador of Australia to 4EB Station marked a significant event for the Dutch community. Her Excellency Ardi Stoios-Braken’s presence was part of a strategic initiative to engage with various local focus groups, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration.
During her visit to Queensland, Her Excellency also officiated the opening of the Camp Columbia exhibition at the MacArthur Museum, emphasising the longstanding historical and cultural ties between the Netherlands and Australia.
Her Excellency Ardi Stoios-Braken had the pleasure to be interviewed by Matthea Paulus from the 4EB Dutch Radio Group at our 4EB studio. The Ambassador discussed the relationship between the Netherlands and Australia, the various steps in her diplomatic career and her aspirations for her term as the Ambassador to Australia.
Following the interview, an informal gathering was convened, bringing together distinguished Dutch delegates including representatives from the Dutch Language School Het Duyfken, Dutch Chamber of Commerce, Dutch Australian Cultural Centre, and De Borrelclub. The gathering also welcomed the former Honorary Consul and 4EB’s radio dedicated broadcasters of the 4EB Dutch program Wilma Burton, Beno Groothoff, and Matthea Paulus.
This visit underscores the ambassador’s dedication to advancing bilateral relations and the significance of her new role.
