The Maori Group at Radio 4EB will celebrate Waitangi Day on Friday 3 February 2023 from 3pm to 10pm at The Kingston Butter Factory and Entertainment Precint, and everyone is invited.

For New Zealand, Waitangi Day is equivalent to Australia Day or is considered Independence Day too. On 6 February 1886, the British Crown and over 500 Chiefs and representatives of the Maori people of New Zealand signed a treaty as a constitutional document establishing and guiding the relationship between the Maori people and the British Monarchy.

Waitangi Day is as controversial as Australia Day (or Invasion Day), but most Maori/Kiwi people living in Australia find it the perfect way for all us who are a long way from home to get together and celebrate just being who we are. Join us to celebrate our culture with a great entertainment plan for the day.

The Kingston Butter Factory and Entertainment Precint’s address is 270 Jacaranda Ave, Kingston QLD 4114
