Peter Dutton’s “Australian gas for Australians first” message is resonating with voters — especially with conservatives.
New polling from public policy think tank The Australia Institute shows strong support for the Coalition Leader’s push to tax gas exports, with 71 percent of Coalition voters backing the idea.
Overall, 61 percent of Australians support a gas export tax, and most agree Australia exports too much gas, driving up prices at home.
The Wire’s contributor from Ngaarda Media Asad Khan asked Executive Director Dr Richard Denniss why he thinks conservatives and regional voters are backing the gas exports policy.
