The number of Australians wrongfully detained overseas is unknown, but the need for better support is top of mind for one former political prisoner.

British Australian academic Kylie Moore-Gilbert is the Director of the Australian Wrongful and Arbitrary Detention Alliance. 

She was falsely charged with espionage in Iran in September 2018 – after 804 days in prison she was released as part of a prisoner exchange deal.
