Well it seems the weather is finally cooling down, but things at the station are definitely heating up!  It’s subscription time and we encourage you to get in and renew your membership/subscription before the 30th June.

We have a special 4EB merch package and 2 x $50 gift vouchers which will be given away.  You do need to renew / join by the 15th of June to go into the draw though, so contact the office to make sure you don’t miss out.

Here’s a snapshot of just a few of things that have been happening, click for more information:

  • 4EB is proudly the media partner of the Multicultural Professional Network’s Inaugural Gala happening on 17 June this year. Tickets are available and join the biggest multicultural network event! All the funds will support The Smith Family.
  • Enjoy a fantastic show with Auntie Fiafia’s Night visiting Logan on 29 April. You will be able to see Pasikifa-inspired performances from Aotearoa, Samoa, Tahiti, Fiji, etc. It’s an event you can’t miss.
  • We were part of Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Refugee Welcome Ceremony this year, and 4EB attended the event to celebrate the contributions of refugees in our city.
  • We’re in full swing producing 4K WAVE, our project in partnership with Queensland Police Services and the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre to train young people to develop broadcasting skills in radio, podcasting, writing, and music. This is our second iteration of the project, and we cannot wait to see the results!

If your language group are part of an event you would like to share with the community, or you would like more help promoting an event, please let us know!

The really big news of the month is both fabulous and little bit sad, after over 7 years as part of the 4EB family, the wonderful Alex Nagl has been offered a position working nationally with CBAA.  We are very excited for him and this new adventure he will be embarking on, but super sad he is leaving us.  We wish him all the best.  Stay tuned for more info on a farewell.

We hope you have a nice, restful Easter time with friends and family.

That’s all for now! Stay safe everyone.

Warmest,
Jo Pratt.
