This month, FM91.1 Canberra Multicultural Service (CMS Radio) and Radio 4EB had an informal chat about multiethnic community radio and media diversity.
Assistant Treasurer from CMS Radio Saad Khalid visited Radio 4EB’s Newsroom Co-ordinator Dr Eduardo Jordan this month. Both are part of the community radio sector and are chapter members from Media Diversity Australia, and discussed issues faced by the sector, as well as potential collaborations in the future between both radio stations.
‘It was a great opportunity to catch up with Saad about the projects Radio 4EB is delivering, including the 4EB Newsroom. We would like both stations to collaborate for the benefit of the multiethnic community in Canberra and Brisbane’ Dr Jordan said.
Saad Khalid is also the Youth Representative for the National Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcasters’ Council (NEMBC), and he said the Council is happy to have been granted the Walkley Foundation’s Meta Australian News grant for the second time this year.
Thanks for visiting us, Saad, and we look forward to catching up again!
