4EB’s women’s luncheon has been off to a great start this year. We can’t forget the amazing celebration of fifty plus women coming together for the inaugural International Women’s Day with distinguished guest speakers, Irene Cayas OAM, a respected member of the Order of Australia Association, delivering a powerful message on the importance of recognising and celebrating the contributions of women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Cayas expressed the importance of advocating and nominating figures from diverse communities to increase the visibility of multicultural communities in recognising the exceptional leaders doing great work.
Recently we celebrated June with our second women’s luncheon with a ‘Winter’ wonderland of Irene’s beautifully home-made soups and specialties. An intimate winter luncheon bringing together our community of women through conversations, cross cultural connections and yummy food.
For those of you who are new to our the 4EB Women’s Luncheon, this annual special occasion is delivered throughout the year over 4 seasons and is led by our dedicated and long-time member and volunteer Irene Tavutavu. Irene organises the Women’s Luncheon along with 4EB staff, and works hard to cook all of the amazing food from home. The Women’s Luncheon provides a platform for multicultural women to celebrate the achievements, inspire connection and a space to share commonalities and great food. The next 4EB women’s luncheon will be marked as the third one for the year coming up in the month of October. Stay tuned for more.
