Radio 4EB has once again assembled a team of diverse multicultural broadcasters to attend and report live at the Asia Pacific Cities Summit held in Brisbane at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. You can catch the broadcast at Midday 09/09/21 & 10/09/21 on Global or listen On Demand here.
The last time Radio 4EB attended the APCS was in 2019. The event normally travels to different cities across the Asia Pacific but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this Special Edition will be hosted in the home city of Brisbane.
The APCS, founded in 1996, is Brisbane City Council’s signature, biennial, international event for driving economic growth for Brisbane, South East Queensland, Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region. The Summit is an integral part of Council’s economic development agenda for the city to foster international networks and forge new business relations throughout the region.
This years keynote speakers are Martin O’Malley the 61st Governor of Maryland and former Mayor of Baltimore & Kurt Fearnley AO, three-time Paralympic gold medalist and one of Australia’s most well known and respected athletes.
The overarching theme of the summit is “Redefining Cities through Opportunities and Challenges” and in addition to the keynote sessions there will be individual sessions which fall under sub-themes:
- HEALTHY CITIES – Strengthening agility, well-being and sustainability
- VIBRANT CITIES – Celebrating and enhancing creativity, diversity and tourism
- CONNECTED CITIES – Redefining connections and movement
- INTELLIGENT CITIES – Harnessing and supporting talent, innovation and business
