One half of the production team that keeps radio 4EB on air, introducing Adeniyi (Niyi) Adepoyibi! As summated in his answer when asked “are you involved with a program and if so, what is the name of your program and when does it go to air? His answer sums it up: All of them, all of the time 😊.
How did you get involved with Radio 4EB and why?
Via a job ad I found whilst at university. I thought 4EB overall would be a fitting personal continuation of the community work I did with my family whilst growing up.
What’s the kindest thing a stranger has done for you?
A total stranger on Brunswick St once put a wad of cash into my hands. That was kind. I didn’t ask him about the origins of the money…
What’s the first word you think of in a language that isn’t your first?
‘Odaaro’, Yoruba for goodnight, probably because I am typing this while sleepy!
What has been the highlight of your past year?
Seeing friends and family that I have not seen since early 2020. What a ride!
What do you think about the most while you’re driving or walking?
Usually my family – we all live in different cities/ countries, so I think about what they are up to, etc.
What is the last move you watched, and did you like it?
‘The Platform’ – It was ok, let’s say 3 stars.
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
Exercise/ physical activity – I’m not very happy without it!
What music are you currently listening to?
I’m currently listening to Hiromi’s ‘Silver Lining Suite’, and it is my favourite album of the last year or so. Other albums I am listening to a lot at the moment: Dayme Arocena – Sonocardiogram, Ibeyi – Ash, Mr Eazi – Accra to Lagos.
What is your favourite thing to do?
At the moment, probably bushwalking, or anything away from the city!
Are you named after anyone?
Nope, just a common name. Funny story though – my last name is actually a typo which was never rectified – so I guess it’s official now!
