Radio 4EB won an award at the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia’s conference for Best Special Event Broadcast in 2022.
The Radio 4EB team hit the road again this year and head out West and Far North Queensland, this time even further; to broadcast from Women of the World Festival at Longreach, Cairns, and Logan in South East Queensland as an event partner from Women of the World.
Women of the World (or WOW for short) is a festival that celebrates the achievements and contributions of women by facilitating conversations, workshops, performances, and exhibitions for the community about gender equality, inclusion, and diversity.
It’s the second year WOW has travelled to different regions in Queensland to give the opportunity to regional communities to continue the conversation around these topics. Radio 4EB was able to produce live broadcasts from each of the regions and its content was distributed through the Community Radio Network across Australia.
4EB’s Development and Community Engagement Manager and Producer of WOW Queenie Pelesa received the award in Cairns. 4EB competed with other fantastic projects in community radio from across Australia.
