Global Jazz plays the best of traditional jazz, standards, and jazz fusions from the far corners of the world. Each week, Celeste Macintosh and Richard Hamernik feature relatively unknown jazz artists from various cultures. Occasionally, local artists join in the program as co-hosts sharing their personal stories, the unique paths they took for their music; and the influence of their culture on the evolution of jazz in their home country. The rich line-up of ethnic jazz fusions and traditional jazz highlights the delightful contrast between tracks but also celebrates the harmonious chaos that jazz music embodies. No better way to spend your 3 pm Tuesday after a hectic start to your week.
