Join the 4EB’s exciting newsroom and take advantage of exclusive professional development opportunities! Don’t miss your chance to gain hands-on experience and grow as a community sports journalist—get involved today!
Under the 4EB Newsroom, the Sports program will train members and participants to become community sports journalists. The program aims to enhance members’ skills in covering local sports, with additional workshop opportunities available for reporting on major sporting events.
The newsroom oversees Sports Vibe, a multicultural sports program to report on topics related to sports we all love in an informative and entertaining way. The program has the support of approximately 10 station members who make the program happen each week. Sports Vibe is broadcast Fridays at 9am.
On its second phase, we are seeking participants who are interested in ‘Sports’ whether you’re a beginner or an expert. The opportunity is only open to Radio 4EB financial members who have completed their panel training.
The training will be provided by the Community Media Training Organisation, over a period of six weeks. After that, you will be part of a vibrant team passionate about sports within our station!
Expectations from members and participants joining Sports Vibe:
- To attend and complete in full the training provided by the Community Media Training Organisation and pass assessments.
- Be available and committed at least once a month to produce a news bulletin or interviews for the program (with guidance from 4EB’s Newsroom).
- Be able to attend and cover community sports events along with the CMTO Trainer.
- To work collaboratively in a team.
Once the training is complete, you will be able to produce news about sports in English and In-language.
Sports Vibe is a program proudly funded by the Community Broadcasting Foundation and supported by the Community Media Training Organisation.
