4EB is looking for Expressions of Interest from volunteers across Australia to become community journalists and be part of 4EB’s Newsroom project!
Applications close at 5pm on September 13th 2022
Volunteers will receive online training from the Community Media Training Organisation on community journalism (time: once a week for 6 weeks), where it delivers practical skills on how to produce news and current affairs radio stories from scratch.
From pitching a story idea to writing a script for your radio story; you will have a trainer who will mentor and guide you during the course. At the end of the course, you will have radio platforms where you can strengthen your skills as a community journalist with Radio 4EB: The Wire, Fair Comment, and The Wire Weekly In Summer; all of them nationally broadcast through the Community Radio Network.
You will need to be curious and keen to report on issues affecting your community. In addition, you will need basic audio editing skills (Audacity).
You can report from anywhere across Australia, and volunteers living in regional areas are encouraged to be involved in this project.
If you are interested in becoming part of the media landscape in Australia, please fill out the form below.
