Dutch Radio Group

The Dutch Radio Group consists of thirteen enthusiastic program and technical producers, nearly all of whom were born in either the Netherlands or the former Dutch East Indies. The four programs presented each week consist of news from Radio Netherlands, local news and announcement of events to take place at the various Dutch organisations in Queensland, and music. Every programmer has his/her own style of presentation and program choice is largely left up to the individual programmer. The Group also contributes a column to " 't Paaltje" a magazine for the Dutch community published by Mr. Rudy van Wyk. Also, the radio group produces a newsletter - visit the newsletter.

The Convener of the Dutch Radio Group is Lenie van Wyk, who may be contacted through the Radio Station. She is supported by a dedicated Committee.

The Dutch Radio Group was among the first groups to commence broadcasting on Radio 4EB, and some of the broadcasters and technical producers have been with the Group for many years. The Group has also supported the station with participation in Radiothons and other fund-raising activities, and quite a few ast and present Committee members have also served terms on the Board of Directors of 4EB. |

We are very proud to announce that our Convener Lenie van Wyk received the highest honour from the radio 4EB; a Lifetime membership.
The principal aim of the Group is to bring Dutch news, culture, and music to the listeners. Many members of the Dutch community came to Australia during the nineteen-fifties and sixties, and are becoming elderly. They appreciate being able to hear their language on radio, and this reinforces their knowledge of it. The broadcasters and technical producers too enjoy the opportunity to speak the language on this medium.

Tuesday 17:45 to 18:00
Wednesday 15:00 to 15:45
Friday 1:15 tot 2:00 AM (repeat from the previous Tuesday)
Saturday 16:00 to 17:00
